A remanufactured ink cartridge is simply an original printer ink cartridge that has been returned typically through a recycling program and rebuilt to its original specifications. High-quality remanufactured cartridges undergo a process that makes them equivalent in performance, print quality and page yield to new models, and they meet all original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards and specifications. The first step in the process starts when a consumer is willing to recycle their empty ink cartridge. Thankfully, more and more end users are recycling every day.

Once received at the remanufacturing facility, the cartridge is first disassembled and the parts are inspected. The key parts include the drum, corona wire assembly, wiper blade, and the roller. During the disassembling process, all worn or defective parts are replaced. Once any defective parts are replaced, the cartridge can then be refilled, cleaned, and finally reassembled.

After completing that process, the cartridge is then given a comprehensive quality control inspection to ensure it is in original working condition. Once the cartridge passes the inspection, it is repackaged and available for re-use.
